Look and Feel Your Best

Take care of your mind and body for years to come.

No one can turn back the hands of time, but you can look down the road to the future. Adopting positive habits now can help you enjoy a longer, healthier life. Here are some things you can do to combat the signs of aging. This is your year to take great care of yourself and to prepare for the best that is yet to come.

Age Beautifully
They say you’re only as old as you feel. Well, how you feel depends on how you take care of your mind, body and health. By taking care of yourself, you can slow the rate at which you age. Working together, the following measures are your best defense against the aging process.

Participate in regular physical activity. Exercise increases your energy level; contributes to healthy bones, muscles and joints; and lowers your risk of coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes. Try to complete 30 minutes of moderate activity each day.

Get adequate rest. Sleep is an important time during which cells are repaired and energy levels are restored. Sleep also improves focus and memory and refreshes your immune system, which helps prevent disease. Too little sleep can speed up the aging process.

Avoid tobacco. All forms of tobacco — cigarettes, chewing tobacco, cigars — increase your risk of cancer and other health problems. Smoking can cut your life short, shaving as much as 25 years off your life expectancy, and half a million people die every year from smoking.

Eat a healthy diet. Eating a well-balanced diet prevents weight gain and lowers your risk of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes.
